Every successful interim management assignment is based on smooth cooperation between client, the Interim Manager and Essensys. This is a “three-way relationship” that is illustrated in the Essensys logo. It is a relationship based on clear communication that focuses on objectives and the timeframe set for the assignment. We use it in conjunction with a sophisticated process to select exactly the right Interim Manager for the job:
  • Intake Interview – ‘to be or not to be’
    At the initial briefing session, Essensys not only makes a list of the problems you are facing, but also comes up with an in-depth analysis. Based on this outline, we work with you to decide whether or not an Interim Manager is the right solution for the problem.
    The next step involves examining your business culture, management styles and any other factors that may be playing a role. After that, we consult with you to lay down the actual task and powers that the Interim Manager will be taking on, and to agree about the likely length of the assignment and the results you are expecting to achieve.
    Finally, Essenys will provide you with a letter of confirmation that sums up the scope of the job at hand and the profile of the Interim Manager required.
  • Selection – the right man in the right place
    As the market leader, we maintain excellent professional contacts with highly qualified Interim Managers who have been through our pre-qualification tests and assessment exercise. For that reason, it is little wonder that we have the most extensive database in the Benelux and France. The most suitable candidates are then selected, taking the nature of the assignment into account. The selection criteria used are: professional and management experience, as well as personality and skills. After an in-depth interview, we put forward 1 or 2 suitable candidates. It is always the client who takes the final decision.
  • Implementation of the assignment – Men@work
    When it is entrusted with a project, Essensys works with you on the Interim Manager’s integration into your organisation so that he or she can be accepted as quickly as possible. Given the temporary nature of the assignment, it is important that the Interim Manager is not perceived as a threat, but as an added value, there to help. As a result, we often see tangible results being achieved more quickly than by the existing management.
    After a period of orientation, the Interim Manager will then develop a plan of action setting out the way the job will be carried out, focusing on success factors, potential risks and a detailed timeframe. This plan is approved between you, the Interim Manager and Essensys and provides a foundation for the job to be carried out. Any changes to the plan will be reviewed together during the course of the assignment.
  • Consulting and coaching - teamwork
    Depending on the nature of the project, Essensys will also provide counselling and coaching for the Interim Manager. Possible points requiring special attention are discussed systematically at progress meetings between you, the Interim Manager and Essensys.
  • End of the assignment
    Every project is rounded out properly and with due care and attention: continuity is assured and all processes and procedures are laid down and transferred. As you would expect, Essensys will also make a careful analysis of your assessment of the way the project has been carried out – and the results achieved – and take appropriate action.
  • After-care and maintenance – a long-term sparring partner
    Essensys firmly believes that strong relations with clients are a critical success factor. As a result, Essensys is not only a sparring partner for you before and during a project, but we also remain available to you after the job has been completed.
